Matalan has named Karl-Heinz Holland as its new chairman effective 27 March and Jo Whitfield as its new chief executive officer, effective from 28 March.

Whitfield will be joining the Liverpool-based retailer having previously stepped down from her role as chief executive at the Co-Op.

Holland joins Matalan from Takko Fashion where he acted as Executive chairman.
