Marks & Spencer Appoint Ikea UK & Ireland Country Manager Marsha Smith as Director of the West Division

Ikea UK and Ireland country deputy retail manager Marsha Smith will join Marks & Spencer in September as stores director of the West division.

Smith has been in her current role for nearly three years. Since 2004, she has held various positions at Ikea, including a stint managing Ikea’s Canadian operations. She has also played a key role in expanding Ikea into new markets and spearheading retail transformation programs.

M&S Operations Director Sacha Berendji said, “I’m thrilled that Marsha will be joining M&S. Her strong operational and leadership skills will further strengthen our retail team and support our ongoing transformation.”

Marks & Spencer’s ongoing transformation focuses on its stores, as the retailer updates its locations to feature “bigger, better” branches that showcase its food and fashion offerings to their best advantage.
